BERNINI art courses

Great architect, sculptor, scenographer, painter and playwright, Gian Lorenzo Bernini is one of the main figure of the seventeenth century in Italy. In this monography he has been represented following a criterium of geographical order, using his masterpieces kept in the most important museums all over the world. Inserts, enriched with a wide iconographic background, offer a historical and critical analysis of the most representative works of art of the roman artist. Both the technical virtuosism of late mannerism and the study of hellenistic naturalism melt in his works together with affections by the great masters of the sixteenth century and the Carracci’s classicistic painting.
