VATICAN PLACES

This book is written especially for the pilgrim-visitor of St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, in order to fulfil his desire to know the historic, artistic and religious events which occurred along two millenniums over, under and around the big Square. The volume sums up the archaeological researches and the studies about the transformation of the “campus vaticanus” from the beginning to Baroque. Part of the details are photographic and all of them are catalogued in the Atlas enclosed.
